Reminder: One Minute Navajo 8.14.2012

March 17, 2012

It is just under 5 months until we celebrate our National Navajo Code Talkers Day. I challenged everyone back in September 2011 to speak for one minute, either to family, friends, or even share your minute with the world via YouTube.

I’ve beefed up the reminders. I’ve posted an event photo widget on the right-hand side of the blog. The photo is linked to the One Minute Navajo Facebook Event page. You can share the event via Facebook, which I hope everyone will.

Ideas for your one minute:

Introduce yourself with your Navajo clans. I’ve timed myself saying my clans and it takes about 20 seconds. For others this might take 30 seconds. Some clans are, of course, longer than others.

GoMySon.com has a unique Navajo Clan tool. Choose your clans from the drop down menu and it will give you the proper text to say your clans. Of course this can be elaborated with other things about yourself to fill in the other 30-40 seconds. It is definitely  a start.
